What Is an Architectural Technologist?
An Architectural Technologist (Designer) provides technical building design services and solutions. He/She applies the science of architecture alongside building technology, design technology and construction. The training of an architectural technologist concentrates on the ever-increasingly complex technical aspects of a building project in addition to the design matters of aesthetics, space, light and circulation. The end product is a healthy home that exhibits thoughtful design, beautiful function and aesthetics that reflect the people who will live within it.

About Me
I graduated in 1998 from the Architectural Technology program at SAIT. But even before that I had an interest in building. I grew up in a home building family and was on site first as a kid moving wood from pile to pile and then as a teenager learning to frame houses. After graduation I got my feet wet in the industry with Jager Homes but in 2001 I decided to create my own design company and have been fortunate in working with great small builders and individuals designing a variety of projects. In 2013 I completed my first build, a side by side infill in West Hillhurst, alongside my brother. We did much of the build ourselves putting the skills we learned from our family to work. In the fall of 2017 we bought our current home in Silver Springs and began a full “down to the studs” renovation including an addition. This hands on building experience is invaluable to my design work. I look forward to talking with you about your project.
